2018
Foundation
Funway Holidays was established as an inbound destination management company for Sri Lanka and India, working with travellers and partners from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, the Baltic states, the Caucasus, Central Asia and other CIS markets.
2019
Official Pro India Tourism Franchise
Funway Holidays became the official franchise of Pro India Tourism in Sri Lanka, providing local sales, payment facilities and professional support for tours across India. The company also launched complete outbound packages and visa support to Russia for Sri Lankan citizens.
2021
Transition to Outbound Tourism
Funway Holidays discontinued its inbound operations and focused on developing outbound travel services to Russia for Sri Lankan citizens.
2026
Expansion Across South Asia
The portfolio expanded to India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet for Sri Lankan and Maldivian citizens, together with B2B cooperation for Russian and CIS travel agencies, primarily in the luxury, cultural and spiritual segments.
Leadership
Mr. Dasan Tharindu Wickramasinghe — Managing Director of Funway Holidays (Pvt) Ltd
Dasan studied at Thurstan College in Colombo and continues to support the college and its sporting activities, including the First XI Cricket Team. His professional background includes experience at Suntel Ltd., SriLankan Airlines and Janashakthi Insurance PLC. He has served as Managing Director of Funway Holidays since 2018, overseeing the company’s management, operations and strategic development.
